Director's Message

As Community Services Director, I am excited to share an important initiative that aims to enhance our city’s parks and green spaces: the Parks Comprehensive Plan. This comprehensive plan is designed to create vibrant, accessible, and sustainable parks that meet the diverse needs of our community.

We are proud to partner with RHA and Next Practice Partners, national leaders in planning with extensive experience in California. Led by Doug Grove and Neelay Bhatt, their team also includes ETC Institute, ensuring that every voice can engage through surveys, community discussions, and planning sessions

Over the next several months, we will engage with residents, local organizations, and stakeholders to gather input and ideas about what you envision for our parks. Your feedback will be invaluable in shaping our goals, which include improving park amenities, increasing accessibility, and fostering community engagement through programs and events. This plan will be shaped by YOUR input. It is not merely a developmental framework; it represents our commitment to creating vibrant, accessible, and sustainable spaces for all.

I believe that well-planned parks are essential to the health and happiness of our community. They provide places for recreation, relaxation, and connection with nature and each other.

I encourage you to stay engaged throughout this process. We will be hosting several community meetings and workshops where you can learn more about the plan, share your ideas, and ask questions. Your involvement is crucial as we work together to make our city’s parks a source of pride and enjoyment for everyone.

Thank you for your continued support and enthusiasm for our parks. Together, we can create a greener, more vibrant community for all. I am thrilled to embark on this journey with our community!
